Priest trashed by locals for molesting girl in Vijayawada
In an incident that came into focus lately, where the locals have trashed a priest for allegedly molesting a girl at the temple in Vijayawada.
Vijayawada: In an incident that came into focus lately, where the locals have trashed a priest for allegedly molesting a girl at the temple in Vijayawada.
Going into details, a man by name Balaji belong to Payakapuram has stared a small Ammavari temple a few years ago in corporation land at Prakashnagar here in the city.
Later he turned into a priest, gradually installed the idols of other gods and developed the temple. Recently, a 16-year-old girl who belongs to the same area has come to the temple and said to conduct puja for her better health.
In this context, Balaji took her to his room outside the temple in the name of doing puja. The girl, who was frightened with the indecent behavior of the priest has run to the home and informed the family members. With this, family members, along with the locals, trashed the priest.
On the other side, the police said that they had not received any information about the incident. CI Prabhakar said they would investigate if anyone gives the complaint.
