With the iconic Charminar on one hand and the Mecca Masjid on the other, it was a sight to behold as thousands of Muslims thronged the streets of the Old City, which turned green, to celebrate Milad- un-Nabi – the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), over the weekend. The festivities began on Friday night and continued until midnight on Saturday. With slogans like ‘Marhaba, marhaba!’, ‘Ya Rasool! Ya Rasool!’, children, adults and everyone alike waved green flags sitting on cars, bikes, camels, and horses while participating in the mass peace procession from Charminar to Moghulpura. Our lensman N Shiva Kumar Meru captures the fervour of devotees.
