Jaanu Movie Review & Rating {3/5}

Sharwanand and Samantha Akkineni are all set with their first outing together 'Jaanu' which is the official remake of Tamil superhit film '96' starring Trisha and Vijay Sethupathy. C. Prem Kumar who helmed the original version is wielding the megaphone for the remake version as well. Today, the film released and the following is our review on the movie. Check it out.

Story:

Ram (Sharwanand) is a professional wildlife photographer. He comes back to his hometown and goes into his school which makes him remind his first love Jaanu (Samantha) and how he loved her wholeheartedly but failed to tell her the same because of his social inability. Later, Ram goes to the reunion of their school friends. Jaanu also attended the same event. Can Ram confess his feelings to Jaanu at least now? Will Jaanu reciprocate his feelings? Well, we have to watch the film in the theatres to find out the answers.

Performances:

Sharwanand and Samantha can be considered as the major highlights of the film. Though we can't compare them with Vijay Sethupathy and Trisha who played Ram and Jaanu in the original version, we can say that the duo actors went under the skin of the characters and delivered memorable and mesmerizing performances in the film. Kiran Kumar as young Ram and Gouri G Kishan as young Jaanu also delivered good performances in the movie. Vennela Kishore and Sharanya Pradeep also gave their 100% in their roles. The rest of the actors like Raghu Babu did really well.

Technical Aspects:

Director C Prem Kumar has succeeded in bringing out the same magic as the original version from Jaanu as well. The director has narrated the story in a proper way. Despite making small some small changes here and there, the director focused more on the plotline and the soul of the film and also brought out good emotions from the film. Production values by Sri Venkateswara Creations are very high. Music by Govind Vasantha is outstanding and can be considered as the biggest plus point for this film. Cinematographer Mahendiran Jayaraju has produced some sleek visuals for the film. Editing by Praveen KL is clean.

Verdict:

Only a few films can give something to take home for the audience and Jaanu is one such film. Both the lead characters will definitely leave a beautiful impact on the viewers. The story between them is written in such a beautiful way and the director has also presented it even more interesting manner. Even when compared to the original version, the remake version has its own beauty and most of the scenes work. Especially the climax scene handled really well. Despite making some changes to the storyline, the makers made sure to keep the soul of the film intact. Overall, 'Jaanu' is definitely a must-watch movie.
