Van hits lorry; driver killed

Hyderabad: In a road mishap that happened early on Thursday, a man was killed. A van loaded with chemicals on its way from Hyderabad to Srikakulam thumped a stationary lorry at a high speed. In this accident, MD Liyaqath, the driver of the van, crushed in between. Nevertheless, the driver who was rescued by the highway patrolling vehicle team died while undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital. Liyaqath originally hails from Kuthbullapur of Ranga Reddy district.

In other three incidents as many as 6 people were killed early on Thursday. The details are appended below:

Two people were killed when a DCM overturned near Peddamberpet at Hayatnagar in Hyderabad. In this incident two others sustained severe injuries. A case has been booked by the police and they have been investigating the case.

In another accident happened near Damagiri road, a car smacked a lorry killing two people. More four people were injured in this accident. The victims have been rushed to a nearby hospital. The condition of the victims is reportedly critical. More details are awaited.

In the third incident, 2 casual labours were killed when a cement lorry overturned. This cement lorry is engaged in the ongoing metro works.
