Hyderabad: TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday promised to end political corruption after coming to power. He said such a state was essential for speedy overall development of Telangana. Addressing a huge public meeting at Gajwel, KCR said that TRS would put an end to political corruption. But for that to happen, he said, the people should ensure that his party gets an absolute majority without which it would not be possible to realise the dreams and aspirations of people in the region.

He said the Andhra parties are not concerned about the welfare of Telangana and people had seen their performance. They believe in spending 25 paise and pocket 75 paise whereas TRS would strive for making Telangana into a golden Telangana. Rao said the people of Telangana State should put an end to all ‘Andhra parties’ in the upcoming General Elections. “Do we need to act as sub-ordinates under them even after attainment of a separate state?” he asked.

KCR, who is also the party assembly contestant from Gajwel constituency, called upon T leaders in other parties to ponder over their continuation in Andhra parties. “We are not against our own brethren in other parties, but they should decide whether to be at the mercy of outsiders or be independent.”

Telangana Telugu Desam and for that matter Congress party would only act according to the directions of Andhra influential leaders, rather than think about the interests of people of their region, Rao alleged. He demanded that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu disclose his stand regarding options for government employees and transfer of seven mandals to the residuary state, which the Telangana community was vehemently opposing.

According to the TRS supremo, the Telangana State conceded by Congress party was “not convenient and satisfying to us. They have incorporated many issues which ensure domination of Andhra sections over us even in the new State. Against this backdrop, it is very important to vote for TRS, which alone is committed to protecting the interests of the Telangana people. How could we allow Seemandhra employees to work in Telangana secretariat instead of our own staff in the new state,” he said.

KCR observed the Congress and the TDP were eying settlers’ votes in 40-odd constituencies. TRS was not opposed to the settlers because there were a lot more important issues before the party than worry about them. Rao said that both ‘Naidus’ in BJP and TDP (Venkaiah Naidu and Chandrababu Naidu) had hatched a conspiracy to spend Rs 1,000 crore to get at least 20 constituencies in Telangana in order to prevent TRS from forming government in the new State. “They are worried that land scams pertaining to a whopping one lakh acres in and around Hyderabad would be probed by TRS if it is elected,” he said. Rao said he was dismayed to know that there were a plethora of problems in Gajwel Assembly segment despite its proximity to Hyderabad. He promised to make Siddipet as a separate district, completion of Karimnagar-Hyderabad railway line, irrigation of 2.5 lakh acres in 30 months, green house cultivation with 80 per cent subsidy, seed research centre in the town and hike in loans for Dwcra groups to Rs 8 lakh from existing 5 lakh.
