GHMC workers call off strike
GHMC Workers Call Off Strike. The workers of Greater Hyderabad Municipality Corporation (GHMC) have called of strike on Wednesday. The GHMC Employees’ Union said that they were satisfied with the assurance given to them by the GHMC Commissioner.

Hyderabad: The workers of Greater Hyderabad Municipality Corporation (GHMC) have called of strike on Wednesday. The GHMC Employees’ Union said that they were satisfied with the assurance given to them by the GHMC Commissioner. Further, they said that Somesh Kumar, the Commissioner of GHMC, has sought time till May 5 to get to the bottom of their problems. They honoured the plea of the commissioner to call off the strike, added the leaders of GHMC Employees’ Union. Nevertheless, the BMS union of GHMC has declared that they will continue to protest.
Somesh Kumar has assured the union of GHMC that he would strive hard for the solution of the points put forward by them. He held a meeting with the union leaders and said that it was the election time and election code was in force. Further, he said that if the employees go on strike during such an imperative time, problems will transpire. He urged the BMS union to call off their strike. It is evident that the GHMC employees went on strike in protest against the agreement made with Ramky.
