Earlier 15 brokers and 15 students were arrested

Hyderabad: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday arrested 11 persons including eight rank holders in connection with alleged irregularities in the PG Medical Entrance Test (PGMET)-2014 conducted by NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS).

The arrests were made from various parts of AP and Karnataka. The arrested persons were -- G Krishna Karthik (31st rank), Kaja Neela Harika (54th rank), Radha Reddy Shyamala (60th rank), Keerthi Chowdary (79th rank), Lanka Prathyusha (80th rank), Paneeshri Alaparthi (94th rank), Bharath Chandra (110th rank), Shaik Hussain Basha (263rd rank), Gadda Rambabu, Mande Shakeel Ahmed and Shiva Prasad Ankegowda. Investigations have established the involvement of 18 brokers (education consultants) and 23 students in this case. With these arrests, CID so far held as many as 41 persons in the case. Earlier, 15 brokers and 15 students were arrested in this connection.
