The Kahaani of Anamika

The audio of Sekhar Kammula’s much awaited film, ‘Anamika’, took place in Hyderabad on Wednesday. While many members from the team’s unit made their presence felt, lead actress of the film, Nayanatara, was conspicuous of her absence. However, the release was a grand affair. Director of the film, Sekhar Kammula said, “There were many media reports that I had liked ‘Kahaani’ and then made a decision to direct the film. However the truth is that the producers had purchased the remake rights and approached me to direct the film. It wasn’t an easy film to make because adapting it to suit the preferences of the Telugu audiences, for whom this will be a new genre, was tough.”

Renowned Telugu novelist, Yandamuri Veerendranath who has penned the dialogues and written the screenplay for the film said, “I have worked for 25 films till date but I haven’t strived as hard for any other like I did for ‘Anamika’. We have also added social aspects to the film and I think the script has come out better than ‘Kahaani’. The film has been shot in both Telugu and Tamil. Nayanatara plays a wife in search of her husband who goes missing. Harshvardhan Rane is playing the role of Anushka's husband in the film. M M Keeravani has scored the music for the movie that is slated for a release May 1. Also present at the event were Ramesh Prasad, Keeravani, Sekhar Kammula, senior Naresh and Vaibhav Reddy. ‘Anamika’ has been jointly produced Viacom 18, Identity Motion Pictures and Logline Pictures.
