Abhaya (aged 22), from Bangalore, lives in a hostel in Gowlidodi, and works in a software company in Hi-Tech City. On 18th October, she left her office and went to InOrbit at 5:30 PM. She left the mall at 7:30 PM, and was waiting at the bus stop to catch a bus back to her hostel.
A car (AP09TV2762) with Vedicharla Satish in the driver’s seat and Nemmadi Venkateshwarulu in the passenger’s seat, stopped in front of her, offering her a ride home. She believed them and got in, but they kidnapped her. Taking the car towards Lingampally, they crossed Birla Open Mind School, and then drove their car into teakwood trees and gang raped her.
Reportedly, the victim was hesitant to lodge a complaint against Venkateshwarulu and Satish, but DCP Adanapu convinced her to. The case was closed in 209 days.
