Cabs To Go On Strike From Midnight Today. The Telangana Cabs Owners and Drivers Association (TCODA) has decided to go on strike w.e.f. midnight on Tuesday with the demands of increasing the tariff, apart from addressing their other problems.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Cabs Owners and Drivers Association (TCODA) has decided to go on strike w.e.f. midnight on Tuesday with the demands of increasing the tariff, apart from addressing their other problems. They said the strike would continue till their demands get materialised. T Santhosh Reddy, the president of the association, Shabbir Ahmad, the TRS leader of labour union, and Narayana etc addressed a meeting at Deshoddaraka Bhavan in Basheerbagh. They said though the rates of other commodities have touched the sky, the cab tariff rates were not increasing for quite some time. They said no response was received for their notice dated Feb 28.

Their demands include:

  • Increasing rate of Indica car to Rs 12 per each km for Non-AC
  • Increasing rate of Indica car to Rs 15 per each km for AC
  • For each single pick up by Indica drive not exceeding 60km to Rs 22K for 22 days for Non-AC
  • For each single pick up drive by Indica not exceeding 60km to Rs 25K for 22 days for AC
  • For Vehicles like Sumo etc the rate should be increased to Rs 15 for Non AC
  • For Vehicles like Sumo etc the rate should be increased to Rs 18 for AC
  • For each single pick up by Sumo drive not exceeding 60km to Rs 28K for 22 days for Non-AC
  • For each single pick up by Sumo drive not exceeding 60km to Rs 32K for 22 days for AC
  • For Winger the rate should be increased to Rs 17 for Non AC
  • For Vehicles like Sumo etc the rate should be increased to Rs 20 for AC
  • For each single pick up by Winger drive not exceeding 60km Rs 38K for 22 days for Non-AC
  • For each single pick up by Winger drive not exceeding 60km Rs 42K for 22 days for AC
The association also demanded that the bills should be paid before 5th of every month for any given calendar month. They demanded an immediate action in accordance to the increasing diesel rates.
