Speaking to press persons here on Saturday, Prof Dr Worsak Kanok Nukulchai, president of AIT, said that a university cannot operate in the box, with globalisation every university needs network to work together.

“JNTU produces good students but they need international exposure. With the collaboration with the universities and institutes, students will study three-and-half years at JNTU in both campuses for graduation programme, and one-and-half year at Asian Institute of Technology for Master’s degree. Only selected students would be inducted into Master's programme,” Nukulchai informed.

Prof Kazuo Yamamoto, vice-president, AIT, said that he was impressed with the JNTU. Any student with intermediate education is eligible to take an entrance test which will be notified by JNTU-H and K. In the collaboration, the 240 seats were allotted JNTU-H and 100 seats for JNTU-K at AIT.

“Every year, JNTU-H and JNTU-K would release notification separately. Based on the ranking in examination, seats would be allotted to the students. Students should have180 credits in the graduation and 40 credits at Master's programme in AIT to receive the dual degree certificate,” said Dr B Divya Sunitha Raj, Academic representative, AIT.

After completing graduation from JNTU-H and K, students can choose specialisation courses like structural engineering, remote sensing, construction engineering, infrastructural engineering and 15 other courses at AIT.
