Hyderabad: The then Andhra Pradesh State Minorities Commission recommended establishment of a new police station in the communally sensitive area – kishan Bagh stating there are possibilities for more such communal incidents in the region, in the wake of clashes at Kishanbagh, Rajendranagar in the month of May and after considering various factors.

It is worth recollecting that on May 14, three people were killed in police firing as communal clashes erupted in Kishanbagh area. Chairman of the commission Abid Rasool Khan at a press conference on Tuesday said that they submitted the recommendations to the state governor, chief minister of Telangana and other concerned authorities.

Further, he said that the commission recommended Wakf Board and Revenue department to take up joint survey of lands at Arsh Mahal to identify and fence. Land has been one of the main reasons for conflicts in the locality, said Rasool Khan.

The recommendations also included that in incidents of communal violence, forces trained to handle such incidents, like Rapid Action Force, should be deployed initially and that if the situation demands, then paramilitary forces can be deployed under strict supervision of a senior competent officer, added sources.
