The GVMC became the second municipal corporation in the county to issue such certificates instantly. Following a series of complaints, abnormal delays/disputes, Satyanarayana succeeded in getting the system operational with the cooperation of the Public Health, Statistics and IT wing officials.

The civic chief explained the system to the minister, who complimented him and his team. Satyanarayana said quick reader code, ultraviolet thread and data base were used in the system without giving scope for any manipulation. Training was given to the staff of in VGH, Krishna, Kanaka Durga Nursing Home, AMG Hospital, Krishna Maternity Hospital and Manipal Hospitals.

He explained that the staff incorporate the details through the Internet in the GVMC website. After receiving them, officials take a printout of the certificate and send it to the parents at the hospital or to their address by courier free of cost the same day.

The GVMC will bring more hospitals with net facility into this fold. There will be no charge for the first time; Rs 25 will be collected for a copy. If any hospital or individual require the certificate for the second time after 30 days Rs 25 will be charged.

Details of those born between 1985 and 2012 were uploaded in the website. Those seeking certificates could check the name and get the same in three days after paying Rs 25. All corrections will be made only at the corporation main office, he added.
