Hyderbad: The Cyberabad Police on Sunday busted a rave party and arrested 26 persons, including 12 women, after raiding a poultry farm at Shamirpet area in Ranga Reddy district in the early hours and found the participants allegedly indulging in obscene dances.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided the farm in Turkapalli area of Shamirpet, according to Inspector T N Babji. Of the 26 persons, three were from Mumbai and one belongs to Kolkata. Police are likely to produce them before a local court on Monday. Babji said that the 14 men who are arrested are businessmen from different parts of Hyderabad.
One of the organisers, identified as Ranjan, is absconding while his female accomplice, who was part of organising the rave party, was among the 12 arrested women, he said.
Police seized over Rs 2 lakh in cash, several cell phones and four 4-wheelers from the party site.
Another senior police official said some liquor bottles were also seized from the premises, but no narcotic drugs were found there. It was learnt that the poultry farm belonged to one Raja Reddy. Further investigations are on, the police said.
In a similar operation a few months ago, the police busted a rave party and arrested 25 persons, including three women, at Sherguda village in Mahabubnagar district and seized drugs, liquor, and a sum of Rs 21.36 lakh. The participants there were also allegedly found indulging in obscene acts.
