Polavaram Bill introduced in Rajya Sabha

New Delhi: The Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh introduced the Polavaram Ordinance Bill in the Upper House (Rajya Sabha) on Monday. Already the bill was passed in the Lok Sabha. The bill was explained by Rajnath Singh to the house. K Keshava Rao, a TRS MP of Rajya Sabha, said that they oppose the bill. Later, Jairam Ramesh, a senior MP of Congress, explained about their purpose and other relevant facts over the issue. Jairam Ramesh said that already a great portion of funds were utilized in the erection of Polavaram Project and the existing design was approved by the concerned authorities. He said that it was the Andhra Pradesh state government’s responsibility to get the alternate arrangements for those who are getting affected.
