The Triple F Radiosurgery is a breakthrough technology now in India opens up limitless possibilities in advanced treatment of cancer.

Launching the advanced technology, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was all praise for Yashoda Group of Hospitals for bringing the Triple F beam technology, which is more accessible and affordable to the people across the country.

The Triple F Radiosurgery unveils a new realm in the world of radiotherapy wherein hypo-fractionated stereotactic treatments can be performed for all types of cancers: malignant or benign. It is also the fastest technology in the segment – Increased dose rate leads to shortened treatment time, as low as 3 minutes per day, compared to 1-3 hours taken by other radiosurgery technologies. With 4D Imaging, it further gives better outcomes, in view of the highest precision and the safest procedure with less complications and side-effects.

Explaining the importance of the new technology, Dr G S Rao, managing director, Yashoda Group of Hospitals, stated that, "Stereotactic body radiotherapy and stereotactic radio surgery involve delivering the total dose in fewer treatment sessions, with a greater portion of the dose delivered in each session. With the availability of this Triple F technology; for early lung, liver, spine, prostate and brain tumours, conventional radiotherapy treatment sessions of five to six weeks can be reduced to 1-3 days of treatment."

Dr Rao said that Yashoda Cancer Institute has become a comprehensive centre for prevention, treatment, education and research in cancer. Also, it is manned by the specialists trained at the best research institutes in the world. He informed that with three dedicated and independent Institutes at Somajiguda, Secunderabad and Malakpet, Yashoda Group caters to more than 5,000 new cancer patients every year from all over India and neighbouring countries. The strength of the Cancer Institute lies in the ability to offer all treatment modalities under one roof. Main focus is laid on organ conservation surgery to improve the quality of life without affecting the chances of cure, he added.
