Brand T Serves Sania Ace, India’s best known woman tennis player, Sania Mirza, was on Tuesday officially appointed as the \'Brand Ambassador\' of Telangana State.
Hyderabad: India’s best known woman tennis player, Sania Mirza, was on Tuesday officially appointed as the 'Brand Ambassador' of Telangana State.
As part of the arrangement, she will promote the new State both within the country and abroad.
During an interactive session with industrialists, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, announced her appointment besides handing over a cheque for Rs one crore to her.
The financial grant to meet her travel and training costs, including for the ensuing Australian Open, was announced by Rao when she met him on Monday.
"Telangana is proud of Sania, the world number five woman doubles player, who is a true-blue Hyderabadi. We wish to see her as the Numero Uno," he said.
Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma and Special Chief Secretary (Industries) K Pradeep Chandra, APIIC VC and MD, Jayesh Ranjan, among others were present on the occasion.
