Hyderabad: The Telangana Minister for Irrigation, T Harish Rao, will be meeting his Maharashtra counterpart Hasan Mushrif on Wednesday.

Harish would be accompanied by Advisor to Government R Vidyasagar Rao, Principal Secretary, B Aravind Reddy and two Chief Engineers, one representing the case of Lendi and Penganga and another for Pranahita-Chevella. The meeting will broadly discuss the issues of Resettlement & Rehabilitation, Land Acquisition and the Public Hearing.

This would be the first meeting at the ministerial level. Harish will also visit New Delhi on July 24 to discuss the issue of water allocation for Telangana.

The T government aims to press the Centre to widen the terms on the tribunal to include the post-bifurcation issues. “We already wrote to the Centre on this,” officials said. The government is likely to demand about 500 TMC of water from Krishna, as 68.5 river flows from the State. “We are only getting 20-25 per cent, the Centre should do justice,” added the source.
