Speaking to media at News Service Syndicate (NSS) here on Wednesday, STJAC president G Vinod Kumar said that even after bifurcation, candidates from Andhra are being favoured for vacancies at the EFLU.
“U Suresh, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, though ineligible for the post of deputy registrar, was also given additional charge as controller of the examinations, flouting the norms of the varsity,” he alleged. He stated that despite several representations on the recruitment issue, the varsity Vice-Chancellor ignored the pleas. “In this connection the ministry of Human Resource Development served a show cause notice to the university. In addition, the CBI enquiry on illegal appointments and CAG report found irregularities in the allocation of funds,” said Vinod.
"Though recruitment notification was issued for 120 posts in 2009, the varsity recruited only 21 posts for obvious reasons. The university amassed lakhs of rupees towards cost of application from aspirants,” he alleged.
Vinod stated that 50 officials from EFLU would retire in 2015 and a fresh notification should be released for all the vacant posts and candidates from Telangana should be given high priority.
“Instead of hiring new recruits, the varsity prefers retired officials to continue on contract basis,” he alleged.
The STJAC president lamented that university Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunaina Singh failed to take measures to relocate the university to Bhoodan Pochampally in Nalgonda district though the government had allotted 92.6 acres of land in 2009.
“In united Andhra Pradesh, the VC tried to reallocate the university to Andhra region and now she is trying to shift it to Gachibowli, instead of Nalgonda,” Vinod said.
He further stated that the university has to reinstate three rusticated students for allegedly breaking a glass door in the library.
