Hyderabad: The Telangana MSOs for stopping the telecast of News channels TV9 and ABN-Andhra Jyothy in Telangana State have been served show cause notices by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

The notices have been issued for violating the TRAI and cable TV Network rules and regulations. According to sources, the MSOs have been asked to submit the maintenance registers along with their explanations within three days of receiving the notices. In the event of failure, a severe action against the MSOs will be initiated that may also lead to the canceling of their licenses.

It is evident that the mentioned two channels have been banned by the MSOs of Telangana state following the serious view by none other than the Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandra Sekhar Rao over the channels. Also, over a period of time, despite the letters from I & B Ministry, KCR’s government has distanced itself from this issue stating that it was a decision of the MSOs and nothing to do with the Telangana government.
