5-yr-old girl allegedly raped

Hyderabad: A five-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and later raped by an unidentified person at an under-construction building under LB Nagar police limits late on Thursday night, police said on Friday.

The victim was sleeping on the ground floor of an under-construction building with her parents Eshwaraiah and Nagamani, native of Medak district, working as labourers, when she was abducted before being raped in the early hours, police said.

When her family looked for her, the victim was found unconscious on the third floor early on Friday morning, police said, adding that she was admitted to a nearby hospital and was undergoing treatment.

Based on a complaint by the girl’s parents, police had registered a case against the accused and started investigation. In their complaint, the parents had alleged that the accused had also stolen Rs 4,000 and later outraged the modesty of their child.

A case has been registered against the accused under Section 376 (2) (i) Criminal Law (Amendment) Act 2013 and Section 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Section 457/380 of the IPC. “Efforts are being made to nab the accused who is still at large,” said the police.
