Deputy Chief Minister Md Mahmood AliHyderabad: Telangana State Deputy Chief Minister Md Mahmood Ali felt that education system should be changed from time to time in order to cater to the growing needs of the society.

Addressing the gathering at a two-day national seminar on Quality Education For All organised by All Indian Teachers’ Organisation, New Delhi and Progressive Recognised Teachers’ Union, Telangana at a hotel in Madhapur here on Saturday, the Deputy Chief Minister said that still 30 per cent children doesn’t go to school in India.

He asked the government officials to conduct special drive for enrolling children who dropped from the schools in villages apart from carrying out their regular duties. “India lags behind in providing quality education and it is need of the hour that we give attention to this issue,” he opined Education Minister G Gagadish Reddy said the government education was far better than the private school system and urged the students to study for overall development rather than focusing on securing marks.

K Keshava Rao, Member of Parliament, said that the 52 per cent of students were dropping by class VIII and there has to be a system to checkmate the school dropouts. “The curriculum has to be designed in way to suit the needs of the society and teachers should impart quality education to the students,” he said.
