It’s a step back to the vintage glories of the 1960s with the dramatic, yet easily glamorous beehive updo. The late Amy Winehouse did total justice to the look and lent it her own characteristic style. More recently, homegrown diva, Aishwariya Rai sported a glamorous beehive bun at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. You could try and make this your look too.

Steps

Tie up the first quarter of your hair from the front. Comb out the knots and tie it quickly into a high ponytail right on top.

Section the portion behind, and comb out the hair first. Tie this section into a ponytail right beneath the first one.

Going back to the first high ponytail, divide that into 2-3 small sections and begin to backcomb each one of them.

Once you are done, comb through it once to smoothen it down and then tie it all into a high bun. Pin up all the loose strands.

Take the ponytail underneath and twist it. Then rotate that around the bun above and tie it.

You could then tie a dressy hair band or put on a huge flower clip at the back of the bun for the retro touch.

This could sit easy and perfect with that classic little black dress and you are set for a night of champagne and canapés!
