On December 14, 2013, the couple called off their marriage and issued two separate statements to the media. The two filed for divorce by mutual consent in April this year. The final hearing in the case is slated to take place on October 31 and the custody of their children Hrehaan (8) and Hridhaan (5) has been awarded to Sussanne. Despite having differences, the estranged couple did come together for their son`s birthday party recently.
Meanwhile, the cause of the breakup remains misty. There are reports that Hrithik’s fascination with his work, constantly neglecting his wife, was the reason for the split. One the other hand it was also reported that Arjun Rampal’s closeness with Sussanne was the reason for the breakup. Rampal, however, issued a public statement, saying that he has nothing to do with the breakup.
Currently, Sussanne runs her own interior décor business and has a plush store named `The Charcoal Project` in Mumbai. She even has a joint venture business with Shah Rukh Khan`s wife Gauri.
