Infant abducted from Karimnagar hospital, accused held

Two infants went missing from a private hospital in Karimnagar's Jagtial town. It is learnt that two women who stole the baby from the hospital were arrested by the police.

On questioning, it was found that the accused Shravanti who had suffered miscarriage stole whisked away the infant from the hospital with help from her grandmother Satyamma. The accused confessed to the crime saying she was forced to carry out the act as she had lied to her folks about her pregnancy.

The police had launched a search operation to find the accused after the hospital lodged a missing infant complaint. The accused are now in police custody.
