According to a latest news report, tomates cost over Rs 100 a kilo! Other veggies too are no netter. Ginger is Rs 200 per kg.
Blame it on failed monsoons, there's lack of production which has led to a sharp decline in the supply of tomatoes and thus the steep price rise.
