Hyderabad: The suspense over the special sop for Andhra Pradesh state has finally come to a close on Friday. Inderjeet Singh, the union minister concerned, has informed the Upper House of Parliament on Friday. He said that a plan is being chalked out towards the same; he also said that on March 25, 2014, a special cell has been established in Andhra Pradesh. The ad hoc measures have already been taken for the betterment of backward areas in Andhra Pradesh state, added the minister.

It is evident that in Feb 2014, the then Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh has announced it in the Rajya Sabha that a special sop will be given to Andhra Pradesh state for a period of 5 yrs soon after the state bifurcation. He said that considering the proposals to be put forward by the Andhra Pradesh government, they would chalk out a program for the development of backward areas in Andhra Pradesh.
