Hyderabad: The Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has stated in no uncertain terms that any negligence on the part of officials in issuing various certificates including income will not be tolerated by his government. Not only officials concerned even the District Collectors will be taken to task, he said.

Addressing employees at a one-day workshop on intensive household survey on Friday, he said that mistakes in certificates issuance would cost government dearly.

'My earnest appeal to all officials is to make a thorough check on applicant's background before issuing income certificate. Assistance of more staff could be taken for this purpose, if required'.

TRS government decided to adopt employee friendly approach, however, negligence and whims and fancies of staff would not be ignored just like that, he said.

KCR pointed out how massive irregularities crept into fees reimbursement scheme because of false certificates. He lashed out at his critics for faulting Telangana government on fee assistance to students.

He pointed out that Telangana State cannot afford to pay fee assistance to Maharashtra, Karnataka or any other neighbouring state at the cost of its own students.

Not a single student of Telangana would be deprived of this financial assistance scheme. The Chief Minister made a mention of Supreme Court full bench judgment, which gave full powers to State to frame its rules regarding benefits to be extended to its people.
