Mohan Bhagwat plays Hindu card again
Mohan Bhagwat plays Hindu card again, Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, has delivered political controversies.

Mumbai: Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, has delivered political controversies.
At a function in Mumbai, Bhagwat said, "For the next 5 years we have to work with the aim of bringing equality among all the Hindus in the country. All Hindus should be drinking water at one place, should be praying at one place and after their death, their bodies should be burnt at the same place."
In Bhagwat's comment, many read a political strategy to win over Dalits and consolidate Hindu votes in Maharashtra and Haryana - a factor believed to have contributed to the BJP's sweep in Uttar Pradesh in the national election. The party won 71 of UP's 80 seats. The polarisation after the Muzaffarnagar communal violence last year was seen to have dissolved deep-rooted caste lines and helped the BJP, which has for years been perceived as a party for upper caste Hindus.
Goa BJP legislator Michael Lobo on Monday dismissed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's assertion of India being a 'Hindu Nation', and claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not endorsed such comments.
"Hindustan is a Hindu nation...Hindutva is the identity of our nation and it (Hinduism) can incorporate others (religions) in itself... The cultural identity of all Indians is Hindutva and the present inhabitants of the country are descendants of this great culture," the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief said in an interview to a magazine in Orissa last week.
Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan, said, "The RSS is pursuing its own agenda but it's a BJP-led government and PM Modi has not said anything controversial in the past one year." Congress leader Manish Tewari told NDTV, "It is very evident that with the active connivance of the central government there is an attempt towards religious polarisation."
Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh, in a series of tweets, described the RSS chief as "Hitler" and said the Sangh should stop "fooling" innocent people by using religion in politics.
"I thought we had one Hitler in making but it seems now we have Two ! God save India !," Singh, also a known detractor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, tweeted.
