Nodal officer at Gandhi Hospital Dr.Narsimalu K brushed off the rumours and said, “These are all rumours. All the nodal officers of South India are coordinating with each other and in case of any confirmed case, we will intimate all the states.”
Furthermore the doctor added that a Nigerian national who was infected with the disease, was on his way to Hyderabad for cancer treatment but airport authorities in Abu Dhabi intercepted and isolated him as he was suffering from Ebola. He died in Abu Dhabi due to the virus.
While, the motive of the tricksters is unknown, it sure seems like they wanted to create panic and fear. Dr S. Ramakrishna said “People must follow hand-washing hygiene very strictly.”
