The chief of YSRCP and leader of Opposition, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reacted on the issue of new capital city on Thursday at Vijayawada. He said he was never against the idea of Vijayawada being made the capital city of residuary Andhra Pradesh.

Replying to a question by a media person, the Kadapa MP clarified that he never made any statements showing preference to a particular city to be made the capital of AP.
YS Jagan also shared his opinion on developing a new capital city. All through the conversation, he said that the state must have sufficient land of at least 30,000 acres for the development of a new capital city and the place must be accessible from all corners of the state.
He added, “We are not against any particular place. The new capital will have its own Secretariat, Assembly, High Court and other Administrative buildings. So preferably, it should be centrally located. The location must have 6-km radius and development should be possible up to 6 km on all sides, If the capital city is 12-km long, then it will be possible to develop across 144 sq km.
Finally, he questioned the government on the current budget session that failed to rake up the capital city issue.
