Plot:
An uneducated man from a family of Siddha doctors is bent upon marrying a well educated woman to avoid being betrayed in life. He is successful in doing so with one lie - that he is a doctor. However, little does he know that the girl has her own secrets...
Review and Rating:
Bharath's choice of film to mark an important career milestone (25th film) can hardly be praised. The plot is weak and particularly the scene where he decides to fall in love with a girl who picks up the peacock feather dropped by him at the college gate is ridiculous to say the least. The rationale behind Nanditha's father believing that Bharat is a doctor too is unbelieavable.
The comic scenes by Thambi Ramaiah and Karunakaran fail to save the movie. The message is clear - the importance of education in one's life. But the movie fails to live up to the expectations of viewers of it being either a comedy or a movie with a serious social message. Best avoided!
Rating: 2/5
About the movie
It is touted as a psycho thriller with a strong narration that is closely associated with the life and culture of Kerala unlike the typical narrations.
"Usually everyone has a notion that psycho thrillers are very serious films. But "Munnariyippu" is different from them as it's an entertainer and has a lot of comedy in it. You can watch it as a light-hearted one. This film is a different type of new gen film in terms of narrations. "Munnariyippu" is a light hearted entertainer," said Bina Paul the editor of the film in a video published by "Munnariyippu" team.
The story of revolves around the life of an ex-convict Raghavan (Mammootty) who leads a simple life and is fond of solitude. The character of Anjali Arakkal (played by Aparna Gopinath) is a freelance journalist. She is in a mission to know the true story of Raghavan and his life. The film also discusses the difference in the personalities of these two characters and how their life and thoughts influenced each other.
