1 lakh CCTV cameras to be installed in city
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is planning to install one lakh CCTV cameras ahead of the World Congress Metropolis Congress Meet, scheduled to be held in the month of October 2014.

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is planning to install one lakh CCTV cameras ahead of the World Congress Metropolis Congress Meet, scheduled to be held in the month of October 2014. Somesh Kumar, Commissioner, GHMC, Mahender Reddy, Hyderabad Police Commissioner, on Friday witnessed a live demonstration of CCTV cameras in the presence of 15 companies.
Installation of between 15 and 20 CCTV cameras in different stretches ranging from 1 to 2 kilometres was announced at the public safety workshop held on July 24 and a target was fixed for one lakh CCTV cameras to be installed before World Congress Metropolis Congress Meet.
The Commissioner, GHMC and Commissioner of Police are keen on taking measure for public safety measures and have interacted with various companies who are dealing with the CCTV cameras. The officials are particular that the storage capacity of each camera should at least for a month.
