He had presented the ‘vastrams’ eight times as the chief minister of a united State.

An interesting debate is on here whether he will be offering silk vastrams to the presiding deity during the ‘Garuda Seva’ or on the ‘Dhwajarohanam’ day. Naidu was seriously injured in 2003 in a Maoist landmine attack near the Alipiri check-post when he was coming to present silk ‘vastrams’ to the Lord during ‘Garuda Seva’. Subsequently, he had lost power. The then TTD chairman P Chalapathi Rao had offered silk vastrams after Naidu sustained injuries in the Maoists attack.

Anxiety prevails among the TTD and police officials regarding the security cover to be provided to Naidu when he visits the temple on September 26.
