I thought what is it that made that sentence bizarre, if being a girl I don’t do very well with pink what is so wrong in being a guy who likes that color? Then it struck to me that there is NOTHING weird about it.There are no rules as such, saying which color is to be liked by whom.
The thought ‘pink is for girls and blue is for boys’ is inked so deep in our minds that if we see a guy preferring pink we question his masculinity without even giving a second thought to it. This gender stereotype is one of those that are so strongly followed that you don’t dare to go and do something opposing it. But if you actually think about it, this deal about colors would seem pretty arbitrary if you think about it. So realize that there are more important things for us to do than bickering about the color choice of an individual! After all it is a free country.
