TRS fields Kotha Prabhakar Reddy
The stage is set for the battle in Medak for the upcoming by-election. While the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Tuesday announced the candidature of Kotha Prabhakar Reddy for the parliamentary seat, the BJP-TDP combine and the Congress are expected to announce their candidates on Wednesday.

Hyderabad: The stage is set for the battle in Medak for the upcoming by-election. While the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Tuesday announced the candidature of Kotha Prabhakar Reddy for the parliamentary seat, the BJP-TDP combine and the Congress are expected to announce their candidates on Wednesday.
Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, a successful businessman and TRS State leader, is the founder of PR Charity Trust. He would file his nomination on Wednesday. TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had promised Reddy that he would be fielded from Medak in the by-election. Party insiders say that KCR was now eyeing strengthening the party on two counts. He wants to ensure that the party gets full support of the Reddy’s and had hence not only zeroed in on Prabhakar Reddy but was also trying to rope in more important Reddy leaders from the Congress party. Prabhakar Reddy is a native of Dubbaka in Medak district and is the owner of Sony Travels Limited. He has been closely associated with the party for the last few years. He had aspired for Dubbaka Assembly seat along with Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy in the general elections. At that time, KCR assured Prabhakar Reddy that he would field him from Medak after he resigns the Medak seat.
