Srisailam: Following incessant rains all over the State due to the low pressure over the Bay of Bengal more water has been flowing into Srisailam Reservoir from upstream projects like Jurala and Tungabhadra.

As against the full reservoir level of 885 ft, the water level has already touched 877 ft and it has been increasing by the hour. The maximum capacity of the reservoir is 215 tmc. However, the reservoir had already 174.69 tmc by Wednesday. The Srisailam Reservoir is receiving 44,341 cusecs from Jurala project and 73,509 cusecs from Tungabhadra dam.

Srisailam The right and left bank hydel projects have been generating power during peak load hours. While the left bank hydel project is generating 300 MW through two generators, the right bank project is running seven generators releasing water to the downstream Nagarjuna Sagar project. During the last 48 hours, 18.88 million units of power was generated here, according to officials.


Flood in Kurnool
Following heavy rains, the rivulets and creeks are overflowing in Kurnool district. Two of the three men, who were washed away in Vakkileru when they try to pass it near Gokulapadu of Nagulapuram mandal, were saved by villagers. The missing man was found dead a kilometer away from the incident.


This rivulet claimed three with in a period of two months. Whenever this rivulet overflowed we live in the grip of fear, villagers said. In spite of repeated requests to build a bridge on this rivulet, no leader responded till now, they lamented. The villagers are angry about the leaders who promised the bridge before the election, and now not showing up.
