Warangal: The tanks and rivulets in the district have received good inflows following the incessant rains.

The tanks, Ottivagu in Arpanapalli, Uracheruvu in Katrapalli and Peddacheruvu in Redlawada village were breached in Kesamudram mandal. While the Morancha vagu in Dharamaraopet in Bhupalpalli mandal and several rivulets in Mahabubabad were overflowing. At the district headquarters, several low lying colonies such as Labour colony in Warangal, Sammaiah Nagar and TV Tower area in Hanamkonda were inundated with rain waters.

According to officials, the district has received very good amount of rain with an average of 16 mm during the past twenty four hours. Highest rainfall of 90.4 mm registered in Eturunagaram mandal followed by Tadvai with 50.2 mm rainfall. Of 51 mandals, 14 mandals received over 20 mm rainfall including dry area mandals like Narmetta, Bachannapet, Jangaon and others. Deviation in average rainfall for the month which was about 60 per cent four days back has fallen to 11 per cent.
