After Tummala, KCR lures Talasani

Hyderabad: The TRS, which wants to emerge as a major force by the time the GHMC elections are held in November, is making all-out efforts to lure leaders of the TDP and the Congress party. A day after it succeeded in winning over the TDP leader from Khammam, Tummala Nageswara Rao, the party has now cast its eyes on TDP GHMC president Talasani Srinivas Yadav.

The meeting Talasani had with KCR for over an hour on Monday gave further credence to this speculation. Talasani, however, claimed that he had called on KCR to represent the case of IDH quarters which were in a dilapidated condition. KCR later visited these quarters in Padmarao Nagar in the evening. Sources said that KCR offered ministerial berth in his cabinet to Talasani and also assured that he would be made the party chief in greater Hyderabad and the post of Mayor to a nominee of Talasani. Since the Yadav community is one of the dominating sections in the city politics, KCR was of the view that TRS would get political advantage with the joining of the TDP senior leader.

It is learnt that Yadav is planning to join the TRS along with his supporters before the budget session begins in October. This was the second meeting between KCR and Talasani in the last three months.

Sources said that Yadav was not happy with TDP as he had been denied the post of TDLP floor leader post in the Telangana Assembly.

He had been maintaining distance from party affairs and did not even attend the TDLP meetings and party state unit meetings.
