Hyderabad: The ruling TRS party’s ‘Operation Akarsh’ is paying rich dividends with two sitting Opposition MLAs and three MLCs jumping on to the pink bandwagon on Monday.

In its fresh bid to weaken the rival parties, TRS admitted YSR Congress Party’s Wyra MLA Madan Lal, Illendu Congress MLA Koram Kanakaiah and Congress MLCs Yadava Reddy, Venkat Rao and Rajeshwar Rao into its fold.

Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, Ministers Naini Narasimha Reddy, T Harish Rao, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy besides TRS secretary general K Keshava Rao attended the programme held at Telangana Bhavan in the evening.

Keshava Rao welcomed leaders and their followers with pink scarfs. Speaking on the occasion, Keshava Rao opined out that dream Bangaru Telangana would only be fulfilled with a visionary like KCR. He called every committed politician from Telangana to come and sail with the party to realise the dream. Home Minister Naini felt that YSR Congress was slowly losing its foothold in Khammam district.

Meanwhile, MLC Venkat Rao exuded confidence that Telangana State would prosper under KCR’s rule. He would develop the new State on all fronts, he said. It may be recalled that on June 25, nine MLCs and two MLAs mainly of Congress and TDP, switched loyalties to the pink party.

MLAs Indrakaran Reddy, Koneru Konappa and MLCs Amos, Bhanu Prasad, Salim and Poola Ravindar were some of the few who joined TRS on that day.
