According to the most trustable sources, the state government of Andhra Pradesh is planning to name the state’s next capital after Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, a former Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and a legendry actor of Telugu films.

It is learnt that the government wants to name the capital ‘Taraka Rama Nagar’. Pattipati Pulla Rao, the Agriculture Minister of Andhra Pradesh, extends support to the demand. He said, “NTR is a demigod to Telugu people. If the capital is named after NTR, Farmers are ready to donate 8000 acres to the capital development. We also support this demand to recognize NTR’s efforts to Telugu race”.

Nevertheless, there is another side of the issue. The fans of NTR are worried that if another party comes into power, they may opt to change the name of the capital. Yes, there is a possibility of the same. The recent issue raised by TDP to rename RGIA of Shamshabad in Hyderabad give us the evidence for the same. Also, naming a place after a leader of one political party is not a good idea as such, in the opinion of the analysts.
