Surf City Surf Dog

Surf City Dog is proud to be a part of Surf City USA's centennial celebration! Huntington Beach is known as Surf City USA for its year-round consistent waves and a surf culture like none other. But in HB, surfing is not just for the bronzed and buff surfers - surfing in Huntington Beach has gone to the dogs…literally! Every fall, dogs hit the waves for the Surf City Surf Dog event which takes place at Huntington Dog Beach. These pups don miniature life vests to “hang 20” as they mount surfboards and compete in a full-fledged surf competition! This weekend long event also includes a doggie fashion show, a “yappy” hour, and dog yoga.

Head to Huntington Beach for a weekend of surfing dogs, costume contests, Yappy Hour, and special exhibits and events at the International Surfing Museum. The Surf Dog competition includes heats for all size dogs, from under 20 pounds to over 60 pounds.

Redondo Beach Lobster Festival

The Redondo Beach 19th Annual Lobster Festival is one of Southern California's events you won't want to miss. The popular, three-day festival is beautifully located at the Seaside Lagoon, near the Redondo Beach Pier. Enjoy delicious lobster imported from Maine and live music all weekend long.

Hosted by the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau, this year's Lobster Festival will be rockin' with More to Sea featuring more food, more music, more fun and more sun! This waterfront festival will serve fresh Maine lobster dinners, plus our very own Surf ‘N Turf steak and lobster dinners featuring Certified Angus Beef ® Center-Cut New York Strip Steak and Maine Lobster Tail or a stand-alone 12 oz.

Newport Folk Festival on the Pier

Originated in Newport, Rhode Island in 1959, the Newport Folk Festival follows route 66 across the country this fall to the Santa Monica Pier for the second edition of the highly-anticipated Way Over Wonder music festival. This multi-act festival will bring a stellar line-up of some of the country’s top folk and acoustic talent to for two days of performances. Way Over Yonder will have two stages: the Main Stage outdoors on the deck where the headliners will appear, and the Carousel Stage inside the historic carousel building, where acoustic acts will perform. The venue will also have food and drink readily available within its footprint.

The Festival became renowned for introducing a number of performers who went on to become major stars, most notably Joan Baez and Bob Dylan.
