The Common Proficiency Test (CPT) will take place on December 14. The exam is conducted by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

The Common Proficiency Test (CPT) will take place on December 14. The exam is conducted by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The application process for CPT will continue till October 28.

Aspirants are required to give the examination in two sessions. The first session will be held from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and the second session from 2 pm to 4 pm.

The morning session will consist of Section A (Fundamentals of Accounting) and Section B (Mercantile Laws) and the afternoon session will have Section C (General Economics) and Section D (Quantitative Aptitude).

Common Proficiency Test is an objective type examination and consists of 200 multiple choice questions. CPT covers four basic subjects divided into two sections viz.

1. Accounting (60 Marks) + Mercantile Laws (40 Marks)

2. Economics (50 Marks) + Quantitative Aptitude (50 Marks).

Application procedure for ICAI

Candidates will be required to fill the application procedure. It can be obtained from the “Additional Secretary (Examinations), The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, ICAI Bhawan, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi – 110002.
