4 Held For Sharing Video of \'Snake Gang\' Assault. The Cyberabad cyber crime unit on Thursday arrested four persons for allegedly sharing a video clipping which was video-graphed by the members of \'snake gang\' of Shaheennagar on July 31. Police recovered four mobile phones from their possession.
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad cyber crime unit on Thursday arrested four persons for allegedly sharing a video clipping which was video-graphed by the members of 'snake gang' of Shaheennagar on July 31. Police recovered four mobile phones from their possession.
The arrested were identified as Syed Bin Salam, 34, Md Bin Ibrahim, 40, Mohsin Omer Aljabri, 50 and Habeeb Osman Alkaf, 45, all residents of King Koti, Hyderabad.
They shared the obscene content through WhatsApp with Md Akbar Shareef, who was earlier arrested for sharing the same content with WhatsApp media groups which was leaked to news channels and subsequently telecast on August 31, Additional DCP (Crimes), G Janaki Sharmila said.
In this regard, a case was registered under the provisions of 509 of the IPC and 66 (A) and 67 (A) of the IT Act. She said sharing the video on any platform amounts to sending offensive messages and publishing obscene material in electronic form. The accused have been sent to judicial custody.
