Hyderabad:The aspirants, parents and the management of colleges approached the Apex court to review its decision on the second phase of EAMCET counselling. There is more than 1L seats in engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, out of which only 40000 seats were filled in the first phase of counselling. The remaining 60000 is yet to be filled up.

In view of this, the concerned have been demanding for the second phase of counselling. However, the state government of Telangana is not ready for the same. Left with no option, a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking the second phase of counselling.

There are as many as 174 colleges which haven’t been filled with even a single student of engineering.

Monday, the review will be undertaken by educational ministers of both the states. The academic life of thousands of students is in a dilemma over the second phase counselling. There is a need for the intervention of the court in this matter so that the ambiguity can come to an end.
