Scare on Malaysian Airlines flight
Malaysian Airlines which has been in the news of late for losing two Boeing aircraft, which resulted in loss of lives of over 500 people, created near panic in Hyderabad skies late on Saturday night.

Hyderabad: Malaysian Airlines which has been in the news of late for losing two Boeing aircraft, which resulted in loss of lives of over 500 people, created near panic in Hyderabad skies late on Saturday night.
One of its flights suddenly made an air turn-back due to an auto-pilot defect and landed in Malaysia’s capital, after circling for four hours to burn fuel. Flight MH198 had departed Kuala Lumpur for Hyderabad at 10.20pm on Saturday. The defect did not have any impact on the safety of the aircraft or passengers. However, as a precautionary measure, the operating captain decided to turn back," the national flag carrier said in a statement.
The aircraft landed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 2.01 am Sunday. The passengers were accommodated at nearby hotels. Flight MH198 was rescheduled to operate as MH198D. It left Kuala Lumpur at 12 noon on Sunday and arrived in Hyderabad at 1.35 p.m, the statement said.
The Malaysia Airlines has had a solid record until this year, when it lost two Boeing 777-200s. Flight MH370 with 239 people aboard inexplicably lost contact on March 8. No trace of any wreckage has been found till now. Another flight, MH17, went down over conflict-torn eastern Ukraine on July 17, killing all 289 people aboard. It is believed to have been shot down by a missile.
