Students told to imbibe leadership qualities

The students should also make efforts to imbibe leadership skills in them, the SP said. He interacted with the school children at the district police headquarters here on Sunday at a programme called ‘Bala Vakta’ initiated by District Educational officer S Vijay Kumar.
As part of the programme an elocution competition was organised and the students were asked to speak about the leader they liked. About sixty select participants were chosen and they were given hands on training for three days on how government offices would function, in social studies and newspaper reading.
A final elocution competition was held on Sunday in the presence of the SP and 10 select students were presented with the title ‘Bala Vakta’.
During the event the students were apprised about the functioning of police department wherein the SP interacted with the students and answered their queries.
Speaking to the students on the occasion, the official suggested that they should mould themselves as torchbearers for the society when they grow up. Education was a great tool for a person to excel in his or her life and it should be effectively made use of, he added.
The SP further stated that the future of India depends on students and hence they should conduct themselves carefully in their academic career and other issues pertaining to their day-to-day life.
Officer-on-special-duty (OSD) Amber Kishore Jha, District Educational officer S Vijay Kumar and his deputies Abdul Hai, Krishna Murthy, Ravinder Reddy, Kakatiya Study Forum Chairman Ravinder, Secretary Krishna, school teachers and others were present.
