Hyderabad: The two schools girls, who went missing from Ramanthapur on Saturday, were traced in Mumbai on Sunday.

According to the police, a team of policemen left to Mumbai along with the parents of two seventh standard girls, Irfana Begum, 13 and Fatima Begum, 14, to Mumbai on Sunday, after receiving a call from them.

Both were students of Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS). The anxious parents, who realised that their daughters failed to return to their homes, approached the Uppal police station and registered a complaint.

To their surprise, they received a call from Mumbai on Sunday and they informed the same to the police. The police sent a team to Mumbai, after tracing out the location of the phone, from which the girls had spoken.

Regular communication between the parents and girls has prompted the police to believe this as a case of joy ride of teenagers to Mumbai.

Y Narsimha Reddy, Inspector of Police, described the reports of kidnap as premature, as the girls were in contact with their parents. “These girls have been to Mumbai earlier. It will be very premature to describe this as a case of kidnap. Our team is on its way, along with their parents,” he said.
