Warangal: The students of a few select schools in the district had a unique experience on Sunday as they tested their software application development skills on an Android platform as part of a programme called ‘ADD Campus.’

The programme was organised by ‘RadonSol’, a software development company based in Hyderabad, which has developed a specialised application design and development console titled ‘ADD Console’.

The students studying from sixth to tenth standard at Kendriya Vidyalaya, St. Gabriel’s School, JMJ High School, Platinum Jubilee School and St. Thomas School participated in the event.

RadonSol’s Training and Development Director K A Nusrath Ali told presspersons that the project theme was ‘Asteroids-we challenge.’ It was initiated to challenge the conventional learning paradigm and provide meaningful platforms to the students.The students were first given some insight into the ADD Console and later they were allowed to develop Warangal Tourism App for android based mobile phones using ADD Console. The App was focused on rich cultural heritage of Kakatiya dynasty. It also included details as such architectural constructions, water bodies, weather updates, hotels to stay, education and happenings.“It is first of its kind event wherein the students are allowed to develop an App,” Ali said.

Sharing their experience, students P Sri Datta of JMJ School and K Shravya of St Gabriel’s said that they felt very happy at being provided with an opportunity to develop an App on Warangal tourism.
