Hyderabad: If all goes well, every school in Telangana State will have toilet facility on its premises from August 15, 2015. In a meeting convened by Panchayat Raj Minister K T Ramarao and Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy with officials of both the ministries at Secretariat on Monday, KTR directed the officials to chalk out a plan to complete the construction of toilets in every school by August 15, 2015 and asked them to take help of District Collectors in gathering schools that don’t have the facility in a week. He urged the officials to work in co-ordination to complete the works on time.

Meanwhile, the Minister recalled minutes of the meeting of Swach Bharat, Swasth Bharat that was held in the New Delhi last month. He stated that based on the suggestions of Telangana government, the Central government had increased the grant to Rs 55,000 for each school for building toilets. “The State government is ready to give its share.

Telangana State should be a role model for other States in the country in setting up toilets,” he added.

G Jagadish Reddy said that his department would extend all support in building washrooms for students. Vikas Raj, Principal Secretary, School Education, Raymond Peter, Principal Secretary, Panchayat Raj and Surrender Reddy, RWAS, E&C and others took part in the meeting.
